4-star interior lineman Reed Ramsier commits to Auburn, choosing the Tigers over Texas

Auburn picked up a major recruiting win on Monday when four-star interior offensive lineman Reed Ramsier committed to the Tigers, choosing Auburn over Texas. Ramsier, who plays at Orlando, Florida’s First Academy, announced the decision on social media after a recent official visit to Auburn.

In his statement to reporters covering the commitment, Ramsier emphasized the staff’s message and the culture he saw in visits. He said Auburn felt “aligned from the top down,” with a shared goal to win, and described the program as a “family” that pushes players to improve.

Recruiting analysts also point to the timing. Ramsier’s commitment came after Auburn had hosted him over the weekend, and he had been set to take an official visit to Texas June 12-14. On3 reported that visit will no longer happen, and Ramsier told them the decision was “100% committed.”

From a class-building perspective, the pledge gives Auburn another offensive line cornerstone in the 2027 cycle. On3 reported Ramsier is Auburn’s fourth offensive line commitment in that class, joining guard/tackle Layton von Brandt, tackle Rance Brown, and guard Jaylon Moore. Auburn also could pursue additional high-end linemen, with On3 listing Niko Kampas and Kal-El Johnson among top targets.

The commitment fits the priorities of Auburn’s current leadership group. Alex Golesh is in his first season as Auburn’s head coach, and the program’s recruiting emphasis on the trenches aligns with his broader offensive approach, which the school highlights as high-tempo and high-efficiency during his coaching stops. Golesh’s staff includes Tyler Hudanick as run game coordinator and offensive line coach.

For Ramsier, the immediate challenge is translating recruiting buzz into development once he arrives at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Interior linemen in particular are asked to set protections quickly, anchor against SEC fronts, and create movement in the run game, roles that depend on footwork, leverage, and chemistry with the rest of the front. Auburn’s plan, at minimum, gives the Tigers a prospect who appears to fit the building block profile, especially as the program tries to build continuity around its offensive identity.

What to watch next is how Auburn completes the rest of the offensive line picture in the 2027 class. With Ramsier already in, the Tigers’ remaining decisions will likely revolve around adding more depth at guard and tackle while continuing to evaluate whether the class can support Auburn’s offseason offensive goals. Meanwhile, Texas will be left to recalibrate its remaining offensive line recruiting plans after losing a marquee interior target to an SEC rival.
