Grafenwöhr, Germany - U.S. Army Sgt. Adam Chaney, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 41st Field Artillery Brigade, successfully graduated from 7th Army Training Command's Basic Leaders Course (BLC), marking a significant milestone in his professional development and continued growth as a leader.
During BLC, Chaney enhanced his leadership skills through a variety of training consisting of effective communication, problem solving, Army Doctrine and leading Soldiers. The course challenged Soldiers to apply Army values and leadership principles in practical scenarios that are designed to prepare them for the increase of responsibility that comes with being a noncommissioned officer.
"BLC pushed me to grow both as a Soldier and as a leader," said Chaney. "I learned a lot from the instructors and peers in my class. I enjoyed hearing different perspectives and experiences and I plan to take what I have learned back to my unit and putting it into practice."
Chaney's successful completion of BLC directly contributes to the brigade's readiness by developing capable, confident and disciplined leaders who are prepared to lead Soldiers and accomplish missions. Investing in leader development strengthen units at every level and ensures the brigade remains ready to respond to changing mission and operational demands.
