A24 said its viral-chamber horror hit “Backrooms” is getting a longer theatrical edition, scheduled to arrive in theaters Friday. The company will release an extended cut that includes 16 minutes of new footage, and the project will be freshly titled “Backrooms: Everything Must Go,” Deadline reported.

Deadline said the Kane Parsons-directed film is A24’s highest grossing movie to date. The extended cut is described as expanding the movie’s lore, while also adding additional Easter eggs for viewers who have followed the story online.
