Angels move Nolan Schanuel and Wade Meckler to the IL, recall Campero and Christian Moore

The Los Angeles Angels announced multiple roster moves ahead of their Saturday game against the Texas Rangers, placing first baseman Nolan Schanuel and outfielder Wade Meckler on the injured list. Schanuel was set to begin a 10-day IL stint with a right intercostal strain, while Meckler was placed on the 7-day concussion IL.

Those removals force the Angels to reshuffle both lineup regularity and daily coverage across the infield and outfield. Schanuel’s absence creates an immediate vacancy at first base, and the Angels will need to adjust their order and defensive alignment for the period he must miss under IL rules.

For Meckler, the concussion IL designation indicates a different standard: the priority is neurological and symptom clearance rather than simply feeling ready to play. That can make the near-term return timeline less predictable than other minor strains, and it increases the importance of the Angels getting consistent production from their replacement outfielders.
