The American and National League squads for this Sunday’s Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game were set this week, featuring 10 players ranked in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100, plus a Final 2 Vote to complete each roster.
The Arizona Fall League announced the rosters for Sunday’s 20th annual Fall Stars Game, a showcase airing on MLB Network and streamed from Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.
The American League roster includes six of the 10 active MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects, led by Rangers shortstop Sebastian Walcott (No. 8), Angels shortstop Arjun Nimmala (No. 34), Rays catcher Nathan Flewelling (No. 63), Royals outfielder Angeibel Gomez (No. 76), Yankees shortstop Dax Kilby (No. 78) and Orioles outfielder/first baseman Ike Irish (No. 95).
On the National League side, the active Top 100 contingent is four prospects: Braves infielder Tate Southisene (No. 58), Phillies infielder Aidan Miller (No. 59), Nationals right-hander Jarlin Susana (No. 66) and D-backs second baseman Demetrio Crisantes (No. 84).
The initial rosters also featured other notable Fall Stars performers, including Guardians middle infielder Welbyn Francisca, who led the AFL in batting average (.409) and ranked second in slugging (.667) and OPS (1.134), and Padres outfielder Alex McCoy, tied for second in the league with five home runs and carrying an AFL-best reported exit velocity of 118.2 mph.
Both teams still have late roster-building questions to answer through the Fall Stars Final 2 Vote. The American League’s final spot is up for Royals catcher Brooks Bryan, Angels third baseman Jake Munroe and Yankees first baseman Kyle West, while the National League’s remaining spots are being contested by Dodgers second baseman/outfielder Charles Davalan, Padres infielder Justin DeCriscio and Dodgers outfielder Eduardo Quintero.
A pair of managers will lead the showcase teams: Daniel Robertson of the AFL’s Surprise group will manage the American League, and Rafael Neda of the AFL’s Scottsdale group will manage the National League.
