On Friday night in Syracuse, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders got exactly the kind of complete-game performance pitchers dream about. Brendan Beck pitched seven innings of no-hit baseball, and Carson Coleman finished with two more hitless frames as the RailRiders combined for a 4-0 no-hitter against the Syracuse Mets at NBT Bank Stadium.

Beck’s outing was defined by control and a steady, repeatable approach. He allowed three walks and recorded six strikeouts on 93 pitches. Coleman entered in the eighth and retired the side on 1-2-3 frames, then worked around a ninth-inning walk by inducing a double-play to end the game.
