THE APEX TIMES
With Los Angeles struggling to find rhythm early and down key targets, Corum produced the game’s clearest momentum swing, culminating in a 23-yard touchdown run to help the Rams carry a 10-9 lead into halftime and push the offense forward after the break.
The Rams’ offense was stuck for much of the first half against the Chargers, totaling 90 yards of production while a single 40-yard catch by wide receiver Tutu Atwell accounted for nearly half of that output.
Late in the first half, the Rams used Atwell’s momentum to mount a two-minute drive that ended in a touchdown, giving Los Angeles a 10-9 halftime advantage.
As the teams regrouped for the second half, Blake Corum answered the need for an immediate spark. On the Rams’ opening drive of the third quarter, he generated 55 rushing yards before capping the series with a 23-yard touchdown run.
Corum finished the game with 73 yards on 11 carries, with his touchdown run described as a burst through the seam followed by a leap over a diving tackler in the secondary.
Los Angeles also had to work without three key pass catchers identified by the team as wide receiver Davante Adams and tight ends Colby Parkinson and Terrance Ferguson, which helped clarify why the Rams leaned into Corum as a reliable outlet when quarterback Matthew Stafford had fewer options to throw to.
The team described Corum’s second-half surge as the most tangible momentum shift of the game, and noted that his recent form includes scoring a scrimmage touchdown in four consecutive games.
