Matt Olson earned his second consecutive National League Gold Glove at first base, while Mauricio Dubón secured another Gold Glove for elite versatility, giving Atlanta a pair of defensive honors as the Braves’ only winners on Sunday night.
Matt Olson and Mauricio Dubón both added a second straight Rawlings Gold Glove to their résumés as the 2026 winners were announced Sunday night, with the Braves collecting the only two defensive awards for the organization.
Olson, recognized as the National League’s top defensive first baseman, won his second straight Gold Glove and his fourth overall. MLB’s team release also reported that he led all MLB first basemen in Fielding Run Value (+12) and Outs Above Average (+12).
Dubón’s award extended beyond one single position. MLB’s announcement described his value across multiple roles, specifically mentioning left field, shortstop, and center field as areas where his defense provided game-to-game flexibility.
The Braves’ release further tied Dubón’s work at shortstop to a roster need, stating that his +3 Fielding Run Value as a shortstop helped cover the void created by Ha-Seong Kim’s “disappointing season.”
Rawlings began awarding Gold Gloves to utility players after the 2022 season, and the release noted that Dubón is the only player to win the utility Gold Glove multiple times, taking the AL honor in 2023 and 2025 as he handled that versatile assignment with the Astros.
