THE APEX TIMES
The Orioles’ prospect turned in a scoreless, four-inning start to separate himself among the desert league’s most notable performers.
With each Arizona Fall League team having played at least 21 games, Week 4’s leaderboards were beginning to take shape, and Braxton Bragg’s outing helped put him in the spotlight. Bragg, a right-hander for Peoria (Baltimore’s No. 22 prospect), delivered a start of four scoreless innings as part of a Week 4 group that included both standout bats and dominant arms.
Bragg’s stat line for the week was 4 innings, 5 hits, no runs, one walk, and three strikeouts. The release noted that constant traffic on the basepaths did not become damage, and Bragg limited the damage by keeping extra-base hits off the board.
The context behind Bragg’s performance was contact quality. Despite the baserunners, he allowed just five hard-hit balls and did not surrender any extra-base hits during the start.
The timing mattered, too, because Week 4 featured a surge in offense across the league. The release singled out Bragg as the only pitcher to go for a semi-lengthy scoreless stretch in a week described as offense-dominated.
After the start, Bragg moved into the league’s broader pitching conversation, ranking ninth in the Fall League with a 2.77 ERA.
