Denver set its Week 8 active mix for Sunday’s divisional matchup by elevating safety Taylor Rapp and offensive options Cody Schrader and Gavin Ortega, while running back RJ Harvey was ruled out for the next several games.
Ahead of Sunday’s AFC West divisional game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos made multiple roster moves, including a promotion from the practice squad and an injured-reserve placement.
Denver promoted veteran safety Taylor Rapp to the active roster from the practice squad. The team also elevated running back Cody Schrader and offensive lineman Gavin Ortega from the practice squad for the Chiefs game.
In a corresponding move, the Broncos placed running back RJ Harvey on injured reserve after a knee injury that put him on the team’s injury report earlier in the week. The announcement stated Harvey must miss Denver’s next four games and could return as early as Week 13 against the Dolphins.
The Broncos’ defensive outlook entering the matchup also includes the absence of safety Talanoa Hufanga, who had already missed each of the previous two weeks and was also ruled out for Week 8. The team said Rapp has appeared in Denver’s last two games and played nearly 70 percent of defensive snaps in that span, recording eight tackles.
Denver will host Kansas City at 2:25 p.m. MT on CBS.
