As Denver’s offseason program concluded, right tackle Mike McGlinchey framed the coming weeks as a chance to deepen habits, stay focused, and keep improving through the grind of a new NFL season.
The Denver Broncos’ offseason program wrapped up on Wednesday, and right tackle Mike McGlinchey used the moment to underscore a familiar NFL truth: the work does not end when organized team activities do. In a Broncos Notebook update posted by the team, McGlinchey said that the proper response to the offseason’s conclusion is to keep working rather than change pace or reset expectations.
McGlinchey’s message was grounded in a simple mental model. He told reporters, via the team’s account, that “The only thing to do and the only response possible is to put your head down and keep working for it.” The quote reflected a focus on consistency, suggesting he sees offseason preparation as preparation for the daily standard of the regular season rather than a standalone stretch of time.
As an offensive lineman, McGlinchey’s role carries a specific kind of preparation. Right tackle is tasked with protecting the quarterback’s blind side in many formations and with sustaining the physical demand of run and pass plays across a full game. In that context, the end of the team’s offseason program is less a finish line and more a transition point, where players carry what they built in practice into meetings, film study, and individual training.
The Broncos Notebook also positioned McGlinchey’s outlook as motivation entering the next phase of the year. With the program completed, players typically return to independent routines and ongoing football study, tightening technique and reinforcing fundamentals that can hold up under pressure. McGlinchey’s comments align with that approach, emphasizing endurance, discipline, and a willingness to stay in the grind when outside opportunities to practice together diminish.
From the team’s perspective, updates like this matter because the Broncos’ offseason process is largely about establishing identity and continuity before the season starts. Leaders along the offensive line often set the tone for communication and repeatable effort, and McGlinchey’s public focus on staying locked in suggests Denver sees that tone as a throughline, not just a short-term motivation boost.
Looking ahead, what to watch is how that mindset translates once the team shifts further away from group practices. For McGlinchey and the Broncos, the key indicators will be the stability of offensive line execution and the ability to sustain technique over long stretches, especially early when teams are still ironing out rhythms. Even without new roster details in this update, the message is clear: Denver is treating offseason completion as the start of the next work window.
