Virginia Tech added a high-upside defensive back on Sunday when four-star cornerback Bryce Woods committed to the Hokies following an official visit to Blacksburg. Woods, an Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy standout, becomes another priority piece for Virginia Tech’s back end as head coach James Franklin continues to define the program’s recruiting direction.

Recruiting services rate Woods as a Rivals300 prospect ranked No. 206, and the commitment marked a major win for Virginia Tech over a list that included Ohio State, North Carolina, Virginia, and Mississippi State, among others.
