Rawlings and MLB Pipeline named nine Minor League Gold Glove winners for 2026, with Reds outfield prospect Carlos Jorge among the recognized standouts.
Minor League Baseball’s 2026 Gold Glove Award winners were announced by Rawlings and Minor League Baseball, and the class included Reds outfielder Carlos Jorge, recognized for his defensive play across a full season at multiple levels.
Jorge, the Reds’ No. 15 prospect, earned the honor as a standout performer in the outfield while progressing from Double-A Chattanooga to Triple-A Louisville and ultimately reaching the Cincinnati roster for Major League Baseball service time this season.
The award class also featured two additional Top 100 prospects at premium defensive positions. Boston shortstop Franklin Arias (MLB No. 2) was cited for his low-error work at shortstop, while Chicago first baseman Josiah Hartshorn (MLB No. 35) was recognized for his first-base defense plus versatility.
Arias’ season profile, as described in the release, included five total errors across 117 games spanning Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester, along with a breakout power season that produced 25 home runs and a.957 OPS.
Behind the plate, Tampa Bay catcher Caden Bodine was recognized after a season in which he threw out 19 percent of would-be basestealers, with a.988 fielding percentage, and also posted a.342/.410/.517 slash line across four levels.
The full nine-player group rounded out with Toledo second baseman Max Anderson, Spokane third baseman Ethan Hedges, Kansas City outfielder Carson Roccaforte, and Somerset right-hander Cade Smith as the remaining positional and pitcher winners.
For team-building context, the timing of the awards aligns with the prospect spotlight season, where the Gold Glove honors are often used as a shorthand for organizations that have cultivated both athletic defense and day-to-day reliability through the minors.
