FORT LEE, Va. - The Combined Arms Support Command’s Law Enforcement Activity bid farewell to its outgoing detachment sergeant, Sgt. 1st Class Dylan Thillemann, Aug. 27 with a relinquishment of responsibility ceremony outside of the CASCOM LEA headquarters building here.

“I have the privilege of recognizing an exceptional noncommissioned officer, one whose leadership has left an outstanding impact not only on the Law Enforcement Activity but across Fort Lee,” said Capt. Faith M. Negron, CASCOM LEA commander.

CASCOM LEA (Centurions) is charged with maintaining order, ensuring security and safeguarding the wellbeing of all within the installation’s boundaries.

Thillemann balanced discipline with compassion and enforced standards while taking care of Soldiers and their families for three years, Negron said.

Negron credited Thillemann with helping CASCOM LEA achieve a number of significant milestones, including: a higher company Army Fitness Test average, building Standard Operating Procedures, and establishing relationships with outside agencies so that Soldiers received more realistic training.

Thillemann, who now moves onto a brigade operations position at Fort Hood, Texas, first thanked his family in detail for their support and presence over the last three years.

He also thanked the members of his team for their professionalism, resilience and commitment to the mission.

CASCOM LEA provides law enforcement and security to the Fort Lee community and took its name Oct. 1, 2024, when it was renamed from the 217th Military Police Detachment.

Staff Sgt. Vernon Gillis will work as the acting detachment sergeant for CASCOM LEA until Sgt. 1st Class Landon Camp arrives later this fall.

Fort Lee Garrison Commander Col. Stacy King presided over the ceremony.
