Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest adds to Coinbase, Circle and Meta in back-to-back sessions

Across two consecutive trading days, ARK Innovation ETF bought shares of Coinbase Global and Circle Internet Group, while also increasing exposure to Alibaba and Meta, according to trade disclosures cited by Stocktwits.

Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest increased positions in several high-profile technology and crypto-linked stocks over two back-to-back trading sessions, adding to Coinbase Global and Circle Internet Group while also loading up on Alibaba Group and Meta Platforms, according to trade disclosures cited in a Stocktwits report on June 7, 2026.

On Thursday and Friday, ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) bought a total of 30,763 shares of Coinbase. The fund added 17,698 shares on Thursday and 13,065 shares on Friday, the report said. Over the same two days, ARK accumulated Circle shares in two steps, purchasing 13,973 shares on Thursday and then 100,250 shares on Friday for a two-session total of 114,223 shares.

Alibaba was the largest ARKK purchase by share count during the period, with the fund adding 245,342 shares, the report said. In the same buying window, ARKK also bought 40,078 Meta shares. The report further said ARKK purchased 14,190 shares of Broadcom on the buying slate.

The purchases came alongside continued portfolio rebalancing. Across the two sessions, the report said ARKK offloaded a combined 784,380 shares of Archer Aviation and sold 457,754 shares of Baidu, with additional sales that included Veracyte and Teradyne.

Wood’s broader framing for the move was tied to crypto sentiment. The report said Wood, in an “In the Know” update referenced by Stocktwits, pointed to on-chain indicators suggesting bearishness toward Bitcoin had reached extreme levels. It also said she cautioned that Bitcoin’s near-term outlook remained clouded by concerns including quantum computing and potential selling pressure from large holders.

In parallel with the trade disclosures, the Stocktwits report said retail sentiment around Coinbase and Circle remained bearish on its platform during the period, with Coinbase described as showing more bearishness during after-hours while Circle was reported as nearly flat after-hours after a large Friday decline. The report did not provide any commentary from the companies themselves, nor did it indicate whether the ETF purchases were driven by a particular earnings event or product update.

For Meta, the trade is notable mainly because it places the social media and AI platform provider on the same ARK shopping list as crypto market infrastructure businesses and China-focused growth exposure. Meta’s products include Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, and the company also points investors to services such as Meta AI and related tooling in its newsroom materials.

Why It Matters

  • ETF trading disclosures can act as a real-time proxy for how prominent growth-focused managers are positioning across crypto-adjacent equities and large-cap tech.
  • By buying Meta alongside Coinbase and Circle, ARK’s activity suggests it is not treating crypto risk as isolated from broader technology exposure.
  • If on-chain indicators and Wood’s interpretation of Bitcoin sentiment are influencing ETF allocation, similar moves could appear in future rebalancing windows across crypto-related and high-beta technology stocks.
  • Because the report is based on trade disclosures and platform sentiment, it does not confirm any company-specific catalysts, leaving the motive behind the Meta buy largely indirect.
