Kansas City selected the Matt Mense IV Crew (Missouri) and the DJ Needham Crew (Kansas) as its October high school Football Officiating Crews of the Month, partnering with MSHSAA and KSHSAA.
The Kansas City Chiefs, working with the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA), announced the region’s Football Officiating Crews of the Month for October on Friday, Oct. 30.
The Chiefs named the Matt Mense IV Crew from Missouri as one recipient and the DJ Needham Crew from Kansas as the other.
The program recognizes high school officiating crews for their commitment to objectivity and fairness in rules, alongside ongoing dedication as officials during the month being honored.
In the Chiefs’ release, the team said this is the second season it has recognized outstanding high school football officials in the Kansas City region, and that monthly selections are based on a crew’s experience, community involvement, and commitment to maintaining impartiality.
The Chiefs also tied the recognition to the NFL/NFHS Officiating Crew of the Month initiative and noted that all active high school football officials in Missouri and Kansas are eligible for nomination.
