Colts practice report: Jalen Travis returned on a limited basis as Jaylahn Tuimoloau and Matt Goncalves cleared concussion protocol
Indianapolis’ Wednesday practice statuses shifted by Thursday’s injury report, with two players moving off concussion protocol and several others back after rest days.
The Indianapolis Colts’ Thursday practice update brought encouragement on two fronts: defensive end Jaylahn Tuimoloau and guard Matt Goncalves were cleared after concussion evaluations, and tackle Jalen Travis returned to the practice field in a limited capacity following an ankle injury suffered Sunday.
On Wednesday, both Tuimoloau and Goncalves had been listed as limited participants due to the concussion process. By Thursday, their participation status improved, reflecting clearance from protocol.
The Colts also saw multiple additional starters return to full participation after rest days earlier in the week. Defensive end? (No) Instead, the team’s report listed running back Jonathan Taylor, wide receiver Keenan Allen, and cornerback Charvarius Ward Sr. all back in full.
Quarterback Daniel Jones (ankle), wide receiver Darius Slayton (knee), and tight end Will Mallory (thumb) were also listed as full participants on Thursday.
Not every status changed, with linebacker Jaylon Carlies (ribs) and wide receiver Ashton Dulin (hamstring) remaining out of practice. Dulin has not practiced since October 2, while defensive tackle Grover Stewart also missed Thursday’s session on a veteran rest day.
Why It Matters
- A pair of clearance updates removes two concussion-related variables from Indianapolis’ week-to-week availability.
- Jalen Travis’ limited return suggests the Colts may manage his workload, but his reappearance helps stabilize the offensive line’s practice continuity.
- Full-participation returns for multiple starters increase the team’s available reps for both unit timing and scheme work.
- With Carlies and Dulin still out, Indianapolis will continue to manage depth needs in the linebacker and receiver groups.
