Outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye and libero Molly Tuozzo announced they will return to the University of Kentucky for another season, extending Kentucky volleyball’s streak of retaining key All-America performers.
University of Kentucky volleyball will have at least two familiar faces back on the court next season after outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye and libero Molly Tuozzo announced they will return for their super-senior seasons, setting up what Kentucky describes as a 5-for-5 run of veteran retention.
DeLeye, an outside hitter, and Tuozzo, a libero, are both listed as All-Americans in the announcement. Their return means the Wildcats will again lean on a core group of players who have already established roles on both offense and defense within Kentucky’s system.
The news was reported by LEX18 as part of its coverage of “BBN Tonight.” According to the report, the two players’ decision keeps them in the program for what would be their fifth season, continuing Kentucky’s approach to building stability around high-level, experienced contributors.
For Tuozzo, the libero position typically centers on reception and defensive coverage, often determining how consistently a team can run its offensive patterns. For DeLeye, the outside hitter role commonly anchors attacking production and situational play during matches, with responsibilities that extend beyond scoring to serve reception and passing.
The report frames the development as part of Kentucky’s broader “5-for-5 model,” a reference to the program’s ability to bring back a group of players for successive seasons rather than continually rotating through new classes. By keeping multiple All-American-caliber athletes together, Kentucky is maintaining continuity that can matter for team chemistry and execution during conference play.
Kentucky’s volleyball offseason has also been a period when teams balance roster management, athlete eligibility, and communication with players and staff about the upcoming schedule. With DeLeye and Tuozzo returning, the Wildcats have added clarity to their roster planning and can now focus on completing remaining roster decisions leading into the next campaign.
DeLeye and Tuozzo’s return keeps Kentucky’s defensive and offensive leadership concentrated, and it also means fans can expect the program to preserve the playmaking roles those players have occupied. Kentucky will still have to address the rest of its roster needs in the regular recruiting and transfer windows as it prepares for the next season.
