Disney details “largest show floor ever” for D23 2026, adding exclusive walkthroughs, panels and a Disney Princess concert
The Walt Disney Company says the expanded D23 show floor at the Anaheim Convention Center will feature Disney+ and Hulu experiences, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar milestones, and an immersive Disney Princess concert kickoff at Disneyland Resort.
Disney is pulling back the curtain on what ticket-holders can expect on the show floor at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August, positioning the event around what it calls the largest show floor in D23 history. The company said the expanded experience will run August 14 through 16, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center, with Disney’s brands and franchises staged through immersive walkthrough locations, interactive activations, “first-look” moments, and dedicated fan programming.
A core component of Disney’s pitch is that many of the experiences will be exclusively available to D23 ticket-holders. In its announcement, Disney described the show floor as an integrated set of studio, park and streaming-related destinations, supported by “unprecedented shopping opportunities” and more than 50 panels and shows. The company also framed the week as connected to World Princess Week, adding that D23 Day at Disneyland Resort on Thursday, August 13, will feature a Disney Princess concert at Disneyland Resort.
Disney’s studio-heavy slate includes an activation tied to Marvel Studios’ TVA (Time Variance Authority) Experience: A New Assignment. The company did not provide additional technical details in its release, but it described the stop as a place for guests to “accept a new mission.” On the Lucasfilm side, Disney said the Lucasfilm pavilion will let guests “swap stories with the filmmakers behind a galaxy far, far away,” while Marvel, Star Wars and other brands are also expected to be represented through the show floor’s interactive formats.
Streaming and theme-park-style immersion are also part of the plan. Disney said fans can “travel into the worlds of Disney+ and Hulu” in a signature 4D theater, a format that uses synchronized physical effects with video to make visitors feel part of what is on screen. The company also highlighted an Imagineering: Horizons pavilion aimed at park development, described as a look at “the people, the process, and the possibilities” shaping Disney Parks around the world. For Pixar, Disney pointed to a celebration of Pixar’s 40th anniversary as part of the show floor offerings.
The Walt Disney Company said it will lean into archives and live craft through several experiences. On the show floor, Disney announced Walt Disney Archives: Uncrated, described as a debut exhibition inviting visitors into “the vast and hidden warehouses” of the Walt Disney Archives, along with themed displays of “shipments” of props, costumes and puppets from Disney films, television series and theme parks across generations. It also said Disney Experiences Auction - Rare and Remarkable Finds and other park-and-destination activations would be available at the Anaheim Convention Center, including displays tied to Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club and Adventures by Disney.
Disney added that The Disney Experiences pavilion is returning, and it singled out Disney’s park storytelling as a through-line. Another marquee feature is Talent Central presented by M&M’S, scheduled to open each day of the show floor at the convention center. Disney said a mix of Disney artists, Pixar leadership, Imagineers (current and former), and talent from series and shows will appear for guest interactions and signings, including artists such as incoming Disney Legend Eric Goldberg and Disney Legend Mark Henn, plus Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer, Pete Docter. Disney said attendees can sign up for activities including exclusive lithographs, fine-art prints and posters related to guests’ projects.
On the entertainment side, Disney’s announcement described Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration as a live performance that will take place during D23 Day at Disneyland Resort on Thursday, August 13, ahead of the weekend’s main convention days. The company said the concert brings together what it called the largest gathering of Disney Princess talent ever assembled, and it described production elements including lights, sweeping projections and “sky-high fountains” intended to create an immersive environment for princess music and stories. Disney also noted that attendance would be limited and “may require additional steps,” including a virtual queue confirmation, a wristband, and valid admission for Disney California Adventure Park.
Disney’s release also detailed ancillary programming and sponsor activations spanning live entertainment and fandom merchandising. It said Spotlight Stage will return with panels, interviews, demonstrations, musical performances and interactive activities, and that Fandango will serve as the presenting sponsor for the Spotlight Stage. Elsewhere, Disney described studio-themed and fan-driven booths, including Topps for a Disney trading card experience, Wizards of the Coast’s booth themed to Magic: The Gathering | MARVEL Super Heroes, and Ravensburger’s Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game activation. It also listed additional hands-on experiences ranging from Disney Music Group’s interactive radio-booth format to Disney VoluntEARS kits assembled for causes with Make-A-Wish, Blue Star Families and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Disney’s announcement, while detailed on themes and schedule, leaves some operational specifics open for later confirmation. The company said show times for certain D23 Day offerings are subject to change or cancellation without notice, and that some participation requirements depend on limited capacity and additional steps, such as queues and wristbands. It did not publish a full breakdown of daily schedules for each pavilion in the release, nor did it provide information on expected attendance, staffing, or ticket availability beyond the requirement that the experiences are for D23 ticket-holders.
For Disney, the D23 show floor functions as both a marketing platform and a content showcase, connecting its studios, parks and streaming properties under one “fan event” roof. With Disney positioning the exhibit as an expanded, exclusive destination alongside more than 50 panels and shows, the company will likely use the event to test guest interest in new experiences and spotlight creative leadership for franchises spanning Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar and Disney animation. Fans and industry watchers will be looking next for more scheduling details, ticketing guidance and any additional announcements tied to Talent Central signings and the 4D and theater-based activations.
Why It Matters
- D23 is a fan-facing platform that can reinforce Disney’s cross-property strategy, linking films, streaming, parks and consumer products in a single event ecosystem.
- Exclusive show-floor access and limited-capacity live performances can create demand and media visibility around Disney’s franchises during a concentrated summer window.
- Partnership branding and sponsor activations, such as the M&M’S Talent Central and Fandango’s Spotlight Stage, show how Disney is leveraging external brands to extend event reach and engagement.
- The presence of Imagineering and Walt Disney Archives experiences indicates a continued push to monetize nostalgia and behind-the-scenes storytelling alongside new creative initiatives.
