Disney lays out full D23 programming schedule, from Alan Menken and Muppets to Disney Experiences showcases
The Walt Disney Company on Monday detailed an all-day slate of panels, concerts and special events for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, running Aug. 14-16, 2026 in Anaheim.
Disney has released a detailed lineup for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, a three-day gathering in Anaheim, California, scheduled for August 14, 15 and 16, 2026. The company positioned the event as an immersive, full-spectrum showcase spanning past achievements, current projects and future releases across Disney’s films, television, games and live stage productions.
D23 will be presented by Visa, according to Disney’s announcement. On the ticketing side, Disney said full-day Sunday D23 Fan Passes remain available, and it also offers Afternoon Only Fan Passes for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The company did not break out pricing in its release, but it outlined how access to some Anaheim Convention Center presentations and experiences will work.
At the center of the participation plan is Disney’s Reservation Selection Process, or Reservation RSP. Disney said the randomized process will distribute reservations for select presentations and experiences based on guests’ preferences and availability. The Reservation RSP is set to run from Monday, July 20 at 12 p.m. PT through Friday, July 24 at 12 p.m. PT, and guests may rank their choices and request reservations for groups of up to six people for most offerings.
Disney said confirmed reservations will be emailed beginning Friday, August 7. It also noted that while reservations are not guaranteed, standby queues will be available for presentations at Anaheim Convention Center event stages, Talent Central and most Show Floor experiences. For shows at the Honda Center, Disney said those events are limited to D23 Ultimate Fan Pass and D23 Ultimate Preferred Fan Pass ticket holders, and there will be no reservations or standby queues there.
The lineup includes what Disney described as multiple “stage programming” highlights, featuring music, animation and marquee fan experiences. Music fans can see Disney Legend and eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken in a rare one-man concert, and Disney also announced the Disney Rewind Concert, which it said will bring together Broadway and animation stars performing Disney hits from the 1980s and 1990s.
On the entertainment and character side, Disney said guests can hear Grammy-nominated vocalist and Emmy winner Seth MacFarlane, along with other special guests, celebrating the Muppets songbook. The company also highlighted milestone anniversaries spanning several properties and franchises, including 75 years of Alice in Wonderland, 35 years of Beauty and the Beast, 25 years of KINGDOM HEARTS, and 65 years of Marvel’s Spider-Man. Disney said the newest class of Disney Legends will take part in an “intimate conversation” format.
Disney’s Honda Center shows, according to the announcement, are anchored by three themed events. On Friday, August 14, Disney Entertainment Showcase will include surprise celebrity appearances, exclusive first looks at upcoming films and series, and musical performances, with an emphasis on previewing what is coming next across movies, television, games and live stage. Saturday’s program, Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and will focus on the creative vision behind Disney Experiences, with behind-the-scenes segments from Imagineers, storytellers, artists and innovators.
Sunday, August 16 will host the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, presented as tributes and moments celebrating that year’s honorees and recognizing Disney’s highest distinction. Disney said the ceremony will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest and will include acknowledgments for a range of figures, including Bob Iger and Dwayne Johnson among others listed in the release, with multiple honoree appearances and musical and storytelling segments.
Beyond the setpiece concerts and ceremony, Disney previewed additional fan-facing programming at the Anaheim Convention Center. It cited items including D23 Mousequerade: The Ultimate Disney Costume Contest presented by AT&T, a session featuring The Simpsons’ cast and creative team, and multiple property spotlights such as Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Season 3 and Camp Rock 3: The Next Generation. Disney also described broader interactive elements, such as a Disney Experiences Auction with live and online bidding, and it said auction information and registration instructions will arrive later.
Several details remain absent from Disney’s release, including the full day-by-day schedule breakdown down to specific time slots, the complete list of who will appear on each panel, and any guidance on how often standby queues will be offered relative to capacity. Disney also did not provide ticket quantities or how many experiences are expected to be included in the Reservation RSP universe.
For attendees and industry watchers, the next key items to watch are the July 20 to July 24 Reservation RSP window and the August 7 email notification timeline for confirmed reservations. After that, the run-up to August 14-16 will likely determine how announcements evolve, particularly around Disney’s stated “sneak peeks” at upcoming projects and the scope of celebrity and talent participation that will land at Honda Center during each of the three featured shows.
Why It Matters
- D23 functions as a high-visibility platform for Disney to announcement upcoming priorities across movies, series, games and theme-park experiences, using celebrity and talent panels as demand drivers for its audiences.
- The use of a Reservation RSP suggests Disney is trying to manage crowding and variability in session access at the convention center, a practical issue that can influence fan sentiment and on-site logistics.
- By combining entertainment highlights with Disney Experiences and Legends programming, Disney is reinforcing the link between its content engine and its live attractions ecosystem.
- The Honda Center format, with no reservations or standby queues, indicates a stricter tiering approach for large-audience shows that may affect attendance outcomes for different pass categories.
