On Oct. 20, Miami Dolphins players and cheerleaders joined Values Matter Miami and Miami-Dade County Public Schools for an interactive classroom event and a student recognition at Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy.
The Miami Dolphins continued the Values Matter Miami initiative at Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 20, partnering with Values Matter Miami and Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS). The program focuses on character education through monthly values, with October’s featured value being responsibility.
Middle and high school students took part in an interactive, game-show style activity themed around responsibility. Dolphins players RB Ollie Gordon II, ILB Jordyn Brooks, and EDGE Josh Uche joined Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders for the event.
During the session, the players discussed what responsibility looks like and engaged students through a Family Feud-style competition format designed to bring the monthly value to life.
At the conclusion, the Dolphins surprised seventh grader Abdias Tejeda, identified as October’s Value Student of the Month, with a custom Dolphins jersey and accessories. The award recognizes a student who demonstrates qualities tied to the month’s featured value.
According to the Dolphins, Values Matter Miami works to engage students through character education and recognition, and the initiative is supported by the Dolphins Football UNITES initiative, which is described as committed to building a more inclusive South Florida.
