‘Elle’ actor Jacob Moskovitz discusses season-two wrap ahead of season-one debut on Prime Video

Jacob Moskovitz says the ensemble behind Prime Video’s coming-of-age series Elle has spent more than a year living in its characters, even as the first season began reaching viewers. In an interview published Monday, Moskovitz said filming for the show’s second season had already wrapped, giving the cast time to “live with the characters a little longer” before the “final ingredient” of the audience arrived for the first installment.

Elle serves as a prequel to Legally Blonde, and it premiered July 1 on Prime Video. Moskovitz, who plays one of Elle Woods’s love interests, Miles, described the production timeline as one that required “mental gymnastics and spoiler anxiety” as the cast promoted season one while still carrying work for season two, which he said they built on as a unit before the first season aired.

Moskovitz said the cast, led by Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods, developed what he called a solid foundation with one another and in their own characters during the extended run. He framed the experience as unusual for television acting, noting that it gave the performers more time with their roles than many series allow when audiences enter immediately after an initial filming cycle.

He also pointed to the show’s scale as it connected back to the original Legally Blonde franchise. Moskovitz said he became more aware of the project’s size after attending an event earlier this year that reunited cast members from the 2001 film for its 25th anniversary. According to Moskovitz, the original film’s cast offered practical guidance to the new cohort, telling them to let Elle Woods lead and that the characters would then be shaped around her.

The interview also touched on Moskovitz’s broader screen work beyond the Elle series. He discussed working with actor Robert Pattinson on the title Here Comes the Flood, referring to Pattinson as “hero” and describing the experience as a meaningful professional step while balancing the demands of his ongoing television role.

With the second season now completed, the immediate next phase for Elle is audience uptake and ongoing promotion tied to the July 1 premiere.
