Five trailblazers selected for AMC Hall of Fame Class of 2026

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. – Five outstanding veterans and former Army Civilians will be inducted into the U.S. Army Materiel Command Hall of Fame in recognition of their legacy of service, vital contributions to global combat readiness, and unwavering dedication to warfighters.

Since its inception in 2012, the AMC Hall of Fame has preserved the command’s history by honoring the exceptional former members whose innovative leadership and strategic decisions have permanently shaped the defense of our nation.

The AMC Hall of Fame Class of 2026 inductees are, in no particular order:

-- Maj. Gen. (retired) Dan Mitchell served as commanding general of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command and U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command. Over a 36-year career featuring eight overseas tours and surviving the 9/11 Pentagon attack, he revolutionized Army logistics by establishing modernization, displacement and repair sites that unburdened Soldiers and optimized global tactical readiness.

-- Sammy Burns served with U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command as the director of AMCOM Field Maintenance Directorate. Following a 26-year military career, he spent 15 years as a civilian, managing a $2 billion consolidated field maintenance contract and utilizing constraint-management tools to slash aircraft turnaround times by 20%.

-- Frank Fiorilli served with U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, culminating his 35-year civilian career as CECOM Deputy for Business and Strategic Planning. He spearheaded the complex four-command merger that formed the organization, saved funding for the vital $4 billion Mobile Subscriber Equipment program, and expertly guided historic Base Realignment and Closures.

-- Rick Alpaugh served with U.S. Army Security Assistance Command as Deputy to the Commanding General, skyrocketing annual Foreign Military Sales from $3.5 billion to over $24 billion. He slashed foreign military contracting times from six months to 28 days and orchestrated USASAC’s major BRAC relocation to Redstone Arsenal ahead of schedule.

-- William Braddy served as AMCOM's deputy to the commander for Corpus Christi Army Depot. A 26-year veteran, he broke production records by overseeing 29 million labor hours that yielded 327 helicopters, while ensuring the depot earned Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Programs Star status and AS9110 aerospace quality standards.
