Fort Drum recognizes civilian workforce performance during quarterly awards ceremony

FORT DRUM, N.Y. (Aug. 13, 2026) -- The Civilians of the Quarter ceremony on Aug. 13 recognized the outstanding performances of 25 civilian employees, while showcasing the diversity and depth of the Fort Drum workforce. Awardees serve vital roles across the installation, including law enforcement, health care, protocol, family support, and security.

Col. Jason Adler, Fort Drum garrison commander, noted that while professionals represent numerous fields, they share a unified mission: supporting the Soldiers and families who live and work at Fort Drum.

“All of your efforts ensure that the 10th Mountain Division and our tenant units remain ready to deploy and are capable of accomplishing their missions wherever it takes them,” he said. “On behalf of our senior commander, Maj. Gen. (Scott) Naumann, I want to thank you all for your extraordinary commitment and dedication to our installation.”

Adler and Brig. Gen. Matti Honko, 10th Mountain Division (LI) deputy commanding general of interoperability, presented certificates to the following awardees:

John Carmichael, Directorate of Emergency Services; Andrew Hickman, Directorate of Human Resources; Jennie Monnat, U.S. Army Medical Department Activity; Paula Reddick, 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team; Sarah Slabchuck, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate; Laura Spicer, 1st Mobile Brigade Combat Team; Glenn Wagner, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security; and Julie Whittington, Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC).

Andrew Hickman was named overall Civilian of the Quarter in the GS 1-8 category.

Sarah Ainsworth, 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team; Kenneth Hamilton, Directorate of Emergency Services; Tim Hanley, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security; Latonia Leonard, 10th Mountain Division; Leah Murphy, U.S. Army Medical Department Activity; Jesus Perez, 10th Mountain Division; Winter Sears, Directorate of Public Works; Katelyn Smart, 10th Mountain Division; Amy Stiefel, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security; Clarissa Vohnoutka, Directorate of Human Resources; and Tyler Wilson, Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.

Katelyn Smart was named overall Civilian of the Quarter in the GS 9 and Above category

Robert Ormsbee, Directorate of Human Resources.

Ryan Cummins, Directorate of Public Works; Travis Hamilton, Directorate of Public Works; Raymond Kinne, Army Field Support Battalion-Drum; Matthew Netto, Directorate of Public Works; and Corey Parsons, Directorate of Public Works.

Raymond Kinne was named overall Civilian of the Quarter in the Wage Grade category.
