Fort Knox to host annual Resilient Warrior Community Day Sept. 3

Fort Knox, Ky. - The Fort Knox Army Substance Abuse Program and Suicide Prevention Program will host their annual Resilient Warrior Community Day at Sadowski Center Sept 3 in honor of Suicide Prevention Month.

The event will kick off with remarks from two guest speakers addressing mental health topics, and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and there will be three local food trucks on site for attendees to purchase food and drinks.

Event officials say the gathering will celebrate the strength, connection and resilience of the Fort Knox community while offering a variety of resources that support the five focus areas of suicide prevention: physical, emotional, social, spiritual and family.

Community resiliency partners who plan to attend include those from the following areas:

New to this year’s event, on-post units and organizations who attend can obtain their annual ASAP and SP2 training certifications.

Program representatives will conduct training in 30-minute blocks throughout the event. Units and organizations can scan a QR code on site to receive credit following their course. The training will be held in designated, marked areas; ASAP training will be conducted outside, and SP2 training will be conducted inside at the back of Sadowski Center.
