H2F System Update (Training): H2F Academy Transitions and Expands Reach

To fully realize the lethality and readiness promised by H2F doctrine, the Army must produce leaders who deeply understand how to employ these systems. The H2F Academy serves as the institutional engine for this requirement, acting as the premier training hub for noncommissioned officers (NCOs) and officers tasked with integrating performance optimization at the unit level.

Recently, the H2F Academy completed a strategic transfer from the Army Training Center at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, to its new home at the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, Georgia. From this centralized training hub, the Academy is aggressively building a comprehensive menu of courses to support the education, training, and leader development necessary to execute the H2F mission across the Total Army.

The H2F Directorate at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, and the H2F Academy at Fort Benning, are prioritizing several key initiatives in support of the Army Transformation Initiative, while continuing the rollout of H2F System resources across the Total Army.

The Academy’s current training portfolio is anchored by two critical courses: H2F-I and pregnancy and postpartum physical training profile (P3T PL). The H2F-A and tactical mobility, active recovery, and mindfulness (TMAR-M) remain H2F Proponent led courses.

Formerly known as the Master Fitness Trainer Course

The H2F-I Course is designed for Active Duty, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard NCOs and officers. Graduates receive the P5 (enlisted) or 6P (officer) additional skill identifier (ASI), certifying them with a basic knowledge in all five H2F domains, with a focus on physical readiness training.

Students learn how to serve as direct unit advisors to their commanders regarding holistic readiness. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of sport and exercise science, movement and coaching skills, and the testing and evaluation of tactical populations according to current Army doctrine. Crucially, graduates learn how to facilitate unit training alongside embedded H2F domain SME’s and develop physical training programming for both individuals and units.

2. Pregnancy and Postpartum Performance Training (P3T) Program Leader Course

This crucial train-the-trainer course equips personnel designated to serve as P3T Program leaders (OIC/NCOIC). The curriculum provides military and civilian personnel with the blueprint to establish and operate a consolidated, installation-wide P3T program.

The training covers implementation duties, how to lead specific P3T exercise sessions, how to train exercise leaders, safety protocols for pregnant and postpartum Soldiers, and required data collection. The course is a blended model featuring didactic instruction, hands-on training, and written/practical exams.

The Tactical Mobility, Active Recovery, and Mindfulness (TMAR-M) facilitator course is currently in the final pilot phase and is currently being delivered via MTT at CONUS and OCONUS installations throughout FY26 and FY27. The H2F Directorate continues to manage the TMAR-M program as final refinements are integrated to maximize the value of the course for trainers and leaders. The TMAR-M Facilitator Course combines rigorous didactic study with hands-on, experiential learning to prepare facilitators to lead mental performance and reconditioning efforts at the unit level.
