Intel expands Google Cloud partnership to roll out Gemini Enterprise agents across the company
The chipmaker says it will embed Gemini-powered generative AI into employee workflows and use Google Cloud infrastructure to speed key semiconductor development tasks, moving beyond isolated AI pilots.
Intel on July 16 announced an expansion of its multi-year collaboration with Google Cloud aimed at accelerating what the companies describe as Intel’s enterprise-wide AI transformation. The update centers on deploying Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud’s enterprise generative AI offering, across Intel’s workforce and engineering environment, with additional emphasis on “agentic” workflows that can carry out multi-step tasks as part of broader business processes.
Intel said it plans to integrate Gemini-powered generative AI across its global workforce to scale capabilities and bolster both technical and business workflows. Beyond workforce productivity, Intel said the partnership will support semiconductor development workloads by augmenting Intel’s existing on-premises compute with Google Cloud infrastructure. The release states that Intel will scale on-premises compute cores to Google Cloud C4 and N4 instances to run complex high-performance computing, or HPC, simulations concurrently, a move it says is designed to accelerate chip development cycles.
