The New York Jets used the NFL’s roster cut window to reduce their player group from the preseason-expanded pool to a final active roster count of 52. According to the team’s official transaction update, the club waived 25 players, released four veterans, and waived-injured three players as it shaped its roster for the regular-season roster limit that is tied to the league’s 53-man standard.

The Jets’ release activity left them one spot short of the 53-player ceiling going into Monday, when the next set of administrative moves is expected to complete the full roster picture. In the team’s accounting, the active roster number is 52, reflecting both the waivers and how New York handled players associated with injury designations.

In addition to the waivers and releases, the Jets placed three players on reserve/injured and designated two more players to return from reserve/injured. New York also made a move related to the physically unable to perform designation. Linebacker Tyler Baron was added to reserve/physically unable to perform.
