New York’s active roster shuffle for Week 8 includes a defensive line injury placement and three call-ups, reshaping the Jets’ rotation ahead of their matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The New York Jets placed defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat on injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s Week 8 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to the team. New York also signed defensive tackle Payton Page to the active roster and elevated offensive lineman Brant Banks and edge Quinton Bell for the contest.
Sweat, listed at 6-4 and 366 pounds, has appeared in all seven Jets games this season and recorded 17 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. The Jets acquired him from the Tennessee Titans in a player-for-player swap for Jermaine Johnson on Feb. 26.
With Sweat set aside on IR, the Jets activated Page, who is listed at 6-4 and 300 pounds. Page originally joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson in 2025, played in four games after working on the practice squad/“practice squad lease” period, and made appearances in all three preseason games this summer, including 89 defensive snaps and 10 special teams snaps.
New York will also use elevations from the practice squad. Banks, listed at 6-7 and 306 pounds, previously earned an elevation for last Sunday’s game against Miami, and the team noted he was signed to the Jets practice squad on Sept. 3. The club has said Banks previously spent time with the Packers organization before joining Green Bay as a reserve/futures contract in January and being released Aug. 30.
The Jets’ other elevation is Bell, an edge defender listed at 6-4 and 253 pounds. The team said Bell was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 13 after time with the San Francisco 49ers, and that he has 33 career NFL games with three starts across four seasons, plus one sack and special-teams production in preseason action.
