The Bengals quarterback and wide receiver earned Week 8 nominations for the NFL’s FedEx Air & Ground awards, with voting open Monday and closing Wednesday.
The NFL announced Monday that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Tee Higgins have been nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Week for Week 8.
Burrow’s Week 8 performance included 38 completions on 48 attempts for 462 yards, five passing touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown that helped complete the overtime win. The team release also credited Burrow with throwing his 175th career touchdown, ranking him third-fastest to reach that milestone, and passing Carson Palmer for fourth all-time in Bengals passing yards.
Higgins’ nomination came after a Week 8 game in which he totaled 10 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals’ team release said that yardage total is among the highest of his career and that he has recorded 100-plus receiving yards in consecutive games for the third time.
For the season, the release listed Burrow as leading the NFL in passing touchdowns (20), passing yards per game (302.1), and completion percentage (73%). It listed Higgins as second in the league with 726 receiving yards and also among the top group with 43 receptions and four receiving touchdowns.
Voting for the FedEx Air & Ground awards opened Monday and closes Wednesday at 3 p.m. Fans can cast votes through, the official NFL account on X, or the NFL mobile app.
