The Kentucky Horse Park says it will move to reduced winter hours, opening Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Nov. 13.
The Kentucky Horse Park announced a schedule change that will reduce visiting hours for the winter season. The park says that starting Nov. 13 it will open only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, operating from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., instead of running daily hours through the colder months.
The announcement, published Nov. 3 by WKYT, sets the effective date for the new winter timetable as Nov. 13. Under the update, the park will be closed on Mondays through Thursdays during that period.
The change affects visitors who plan trips to the Lexington-area attraction during November and beyond. With the park limiting access to weekend days and shortening the daily window to six hours, guests who rely on weekday availability for day trips, school outings or group visits will need to adjust their plans to the Friday-through-Sunday hours.
Kentucky Horse Park officials did not indicate in the announcement how long the winter hours will remain in place, but the published details provide the start of the reduced schedule and the specific days and times the park will operate.
For families and out-of-town travelers, the timing may also influence related plans such as nearby lodging, dining and transportation. The park’s visiting hours determine when most on-site activities and grounds access will be possible during the winter operating window.
The park’s winter-hour transition also comes as weather in Central Kentucky cools and daylight hours become shorter. The shorter schedule may reduce the number of hours that staff and facilities are active each day, while supporting maintenance and operations during the off-hours closure periods.
The Kentucky Horse Park said it will follow the new Friday-through-Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. window beginning Nov. 13, and visitors are expected to align their trips with the updated public hours.
