Ronshaune Simmons is the subject of a statewide search after Kentucky State Police said he escaped from the Blackburn Correctional Complex in the days leading up to a June 20 report.
Kentucky State Police are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Blackburn Correctional Complex, authorities said in a June 20 public alert.
The inmate identified by Kentucky State Police is Ronshaune Simmons. The alert says Simmons is currently at large and that the search is ongoing.
Kentucky State Police said the escape is part of an active public-safety response, with officers working to locate Simmons. The report did not describe the circumstances of the escape beyond identifying the facility and the inmate.
Because the search is underway, Kentucky State Police are treating the case as a matter of immediate concern for public safety. The agency’s alert directs residents to remain alert and to contact authorities with any relevant information.
The Blackburn Correctional Complex is the correctional facility named in the alert as the location from which Simmons escaped. Until Simmons is located and taken back into custody, authorities said the case remains open and law enforcement will continue investigative and search efforts.
As the search continues, officials typically rely on tips from the public, coordination among law enforcement agencies, and any additional information that may emerge from the facility and the investigation. Kentucky State Police said they will update the public as more details become available.
