‘King of the Hill’ Season 15 Trailer Released, Introducing Bobby and Connie as a Couple and Hank as an AI Phone Scam Victim

Hulu has released the first trailer for King of the Hill Season 15, previewing new relationship dynamics for Bobby and Connie and a plot in which Hank Hill becomes a victim of an AI phone scam, according to Deadline’s report on the trailer release.

The trailer was released Wednesday at the Annecy Animation Festival, where Mike Judge, the show’s co-creator and star, received the festival’s honorary Cristal Award for career achievement. Deadline said the event marked the first public look at Season 15 content ahead of the series’ return later this summer.

The Season 15 preview focuses in part on Bobby’s evolving personal life, with Deadline characterizing the trailer as showing Bobby and Connie “are a couple.” The same report also frames the season’s Hank Hill storyline around susceptibility to deceptive calls, with Hank portrayed as targeted through an AI phone scam.

Deadline reported that King of the Hill Season 15 will premiere on Hulu on July 20. The trailer’s early release at a major international animation festival underscores the show’s continuing visibility beyond U.S. markets and suggests the studio and distribution partners are using Annecy’s audience for early momentum.

Judge’s honorary award at Annecy was positioned by Deadline as career recognition, adding to the international attention surrounding the revival. The show’s return comes as audiences continue to track how the series adapts its long-running slice-of-life comedy style to more current topics, including technology-enabled fraud.

While Deadline’s account of the trailer centers on the AI phone scam plotline, the report does not provide further operational details about how the scam works within the episode. The information available from the trailer release is therefore limited to the characterization that Hank is “a victim” of the scam.

For viewers, the immediate next step is the July 20 Hulu premiere, after which the relationship plot involving Bobby and Connie and the scam storyline involving Hank are expected to play out across the season’s episodes.

If the trailer’s depiction of AI-enabled phone fraud becomes a recurring element, it could also influence audience expectations for how the series addresses modern social risks. However, any broader impact beyond the show’s narrative, such as whether additional public-safety messaging will accompany the premiere, is not specified in the reporting.

Why It Matters

  • The July 20 Hulu premiere date gives audiences a clear timeline for the revival’s next story arc.
  • By featuring an AI phone scam victim plot, the season indicates that the show will address contemporary fraud risks within its character-driven format.
  • The Bobby-Connie couple framing indicates upcoming changes to long-running relationship dynamics for a core character.
  • The trailer’s presentation at Annecy, combined with Mike Judge’s career honor, reinforces the series’ ongoing cultural and industry profile in international animation circles.
