Davis is from Opelousas, Louisiana, and plays cornerback at Northwest High School. Saturday Down South listed him at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, and described him as a 3-star prospect who is ranked among the top recruits in Louisiana. On3 reported that Davis chose LSU over Houston, Texas Tech, and West Virginia, and that he took an official visit to Baton Rouge earlier in June before announcing his decision. The LSU defensive backs connection also carried weight in the reporting, with Corey Raymond cited as the coach tied to the recruitment.

Cooper’s pledge gives LSU another long, physical target on the outside. Saturday Down South described him as a 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver from Malvern (Pennsylvania) Prep, with a 4-star profile and top-50 national standing in the 2027 cycle. On3, meanwhile, listed him at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds and said he committed to LSU after an official visit to Baton Rouge, with Ole Miss and Auburn also jockeying for momentum. On3 further reported that LSU did not offer him until May 6, and that position coach George McDonald helped push the process forward in Pennsylvania.

Taken together, the two commitments add to a busy stretch for LSU as it builds toward the 2027 scholarship picture. Saturday Down South reported that LSU now has eight pledges in its 2027 class, with the Tigers adding multiple commitments on both Sunday and Monday. It also noted the class was No. 42 nationally on the 247Sports Composite at the time of publication, while On3 (Rivals-based) placed LSU at a higher ranking in its industry team recruiting rankings after the broader run that included other recent LSU additions.

What stands out about this specific pair is shape and positioning.
