THE APEX TIMES
After a tight first half that saw the lead change hands three times, Golden and Jordan Love connected twice on consecutive plays to help Green Bay build separation.
The Packers’ offense turned a one-possession game into a multi-score advantage thanks to receiver Matthew Golden, who scored on two plays after Carolina had kept the first half competitive. The game stayed tight with the lead changing hands three times before Green Bay finally sustained control.
Late in the first half, linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper’s interception gave the Packers the ball in Panthers territory with 5:18 remaining. Green Bay converted that opportunity into points, starting with an 11-yard completion to Golden on second down to move the drive forward.
The sequence continued with a series of completions and a run by Josh Jacobs that set up third-and-1. After a false start moved Green Bay back, Jordan Love found tight end Tucker Kraft for a conversion and then targeted Golden down the right side deep, where Golden came down with a touchdown catch that put the Packers ahead 20-10 after Green Bay scored two plays after the earlier missed score.
On the next series of the same drive narrative, Love “went right back” to Golden, finding him for a 24-yard touchdown on the other side of the field. The Packers were able to maintain at least a two-possession lead for the final five minutes of the game en route to the 27-19 victory over Carolina.
