FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas - Incoming Munson Army Health Center Director and Commander of Medical Department Activity Col. Tiffany R. Bilderback assumed duties from outgoing MAHC Director and MEDDAC Commander Col. Jolanda L.J. Walker during a change of command ceremony Aug. 20, 2026, at the Frontier Conference Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

During her remarks, Bilderback thanked Walker for providing a thorough transition and expressed her desire to build upon the accomplishments Team Munson achieved under Walker’s leadership. Walker led the organization’s efforts to strengthen access to care, support military readiness and improve the patient experience.

Bilderback said MAHC’s mission begins with developing a highly skilled and trusted workforce dedicated to the community it serves.

“In support of the best hometown in the Army, through learning and leadership, we will strive to be experts in our craft, with unparalleled character, committed to providing the finest wellness, readiness and health care to all our beneficiaries across the community,” Bilderback said.

She also emphasized MAHC’s dual responsibility to deliver continuous care at Fort Leavenworth while preparing its soldiers to support missions wherever they are needed.

“We will develop our Buffalo Medics to deploy with strength and confidence whenever and wherever needed, while continuing to provide care for the families, soldiers and civilians of our organization,” Bilderback said. “I am really looking forward to the next two years and am so happy to be part of your team.”

The assignment marks a return to familiar territory for Bilderback. Although she grew up around the world as a member of a military family, she graduated from Leavenworth High School, in the same 2001 class as Fort Leavenworth Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. David Franks. She later returned to Fort Leavenworth to attend the Command and General Staff Officer Course and School of Advanced Military Studies.

Bilderback began her Army career as a Medical Service Corps officer in 2005 after earning an ROTC scholarship and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Marquette University. Her career includes operational, command and strategic-level assignments in the United States and overseas.

Most recently, Bilderback served as a plans officer for the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine in Wiesbaden, Germany, and Kyiv, Ukraine. She previously commanded the 61st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 1st Medical Brigade, at Fort Hood, Texas, and served on the staff of the Office of the Surgeon General.

Munson Army Health Center provides outpatient health care to service members, military families, retirees and other eligible beneficiaries while supporting individual and unit medical readiness. Its services include primary care, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, rehabilitation, public health, mental health and wellness programs. The organization also supports occupational health requirements and provides health services to personnel at the Military Corrections Complex.
