Nebraska keeps stacking commitments with a flipped edge and a Grayson tight end

Nebraska’s recruiting weekend stayed busy into Sunday, with the Cornhuskers adding two more commitments in the span of a few hours. After landing a pledge from 3-star linebacker Eli Harris earlier in the day, the program followed with a commitment from edge Ma’atoe Moe, who flipped from Minnesota, and a pledge from 4-star tight end Joey Hunter out of Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia.

Harris, also a Georgia native, committed as part of what has become an increasingly productive recruiting trip to the Peach State for Nebraska’s staff. According to Sports Illustrated, Nebraska offered on May 30 and secured the pledge in less than two weeks, with Harris visiting Lincoln during the weekend of June 5. Harris ultimately chose the Huskers over programs including Pitt and Texas A&M.

The next addition made the class feel more urgent. Moe, an edge rusher from Provo, Utah, arrived in Lincoln with Minnesota already on board, then flipped to Nebraska on Sunday. Saturday Tradition reported that Moe had been committed to the Golden Gophers since May 31 and listed him at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, adding that 247Sports’ composite has him ranked among the top edge prospects in the Beehive State.

On3 also captured Moe’s reasoning for the change, citing his visit experience and the welcome he described from the Nebraska staff. In that reporting, Moe emphasized how the staff treated his family and highlighted a coaching relationship he believes he can develop quickly. That kind of fast decision after an official visit is often a sign of a recruiting priority turning into a commitment.

Hunter’s commitment reinforced Nebraska’s emphasis on building around Georgia relationships. Saturday Tradition described him as a 4-star tight end standing 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds, noting he comes from the same high school as Harris and chose Nebraska over offers that included Indiana, Syracuse, North Carolina and Georgia Tech.

There is at least some variation in how recruiting services grade Hunter. Sports Illustrated, for example, referred to him as a three-star tight end while still placing him among the top tight ends in the 2027 class by ranking position. For Nebraska, that difference may matter less than the fit, because the commitment is another high-upside skill player added to an offense that needs more reliable size and targets at tight end.

With Sunday’s additions, Nebraska’s 2027 class expanded to 16 commitments, and Saturday Tradition reported it as ranked No. 17 overall by 247Sports at the time of publication. In practical terms, this extends a tight window of recruiting activity that can help Nebraska keep its recruiting board balanced between positions of need and recruiting geography.
