NFL Week 6 Inactives: Giants vs. Saints, who is in and who is out

New York and New Orleans head into Sunday’s game with multiple players ruled out, including three Giants already taken off the final injury list.

The New York Giants and New Orleans Saints meet for Week 6 action at MetLife Stadium, and each team’s list of inactives reshapes who can play Sunday.

For the Giants, cornerback Colton Hood (concussion), tight end Theo Johnson (neck), and safety Tyler Nubin (neck) were ruled out on the final injury report of the week.

New York entered the day with several players listed as questionable: outside linebacker Abdul Carter (calf), right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (calf), and left tackle Andrew Thomas (groin).

The Giants also made an activation before kickoff, elevating outside linebacker Trace Ford from the practice squad. The team said it was Ford’s third consecutive elevation, and that he has recorded three special teams tackles across the last two games.

For New Orleans, linebackers Kaden Elliss (calf) and Anfernee Jennings (knee) were ruled out.

The Saints listed running back Alvin Kamara (back), wide receiver Chris Olave (illness), defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd (illness), and cornerback Lorenzo Styles (knee) as questionable.

New Orleans also activated long snapper Zach Wood from injured reserve and elevated wide receiver Cedric Tillman to the active roster for the Sunday game.

Why It Matters

  • Inactives directly affect matchups at key positions, especially with New York removing three defensive contributors from availability.
  • The Giants’ offensive line readiness is unsettled by multiple questionable players, including starting tackles Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor.
  • New Orleans’ receiver and defensive front depth could hinge on the status of Chris Olave and Nathan Shepherd, both listed questionable.
  • Special teams usage may be a factor with Trace Ford’s recent stretch of elevations for the Giants.
