Northridge High School’s Luke Amstutz named 2026 Colts/NFL Coach of the Week for Week 9
The Indianapolis Colts honored Luke Amstutz after Northridge’s Raiders claimed a key Northern Lakes Conference crown, with the coach also recognized in prior seasons.
Luke Amstutz of Northridge High School was named the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week for Week 9, the Indianapolis Colts announced Monday.
Amstutz, who previously earned the Colts Coach of the Week honor in 2013 (Week 8) and again in 2015 (Week 9) while coaching the East Noble Knights, was recognized this week for the impact of Northridge’s program.
In the game cited by the Colts, the Class 4A No. 8 Raiders won 37-30 at home over previously undefeated Class 5A No. 4 Warsaw (8-1), a result that gave Northridge its first Northern Lakes Conference title since 2017.
The Colts said the Week 9 honorees are selected each week following Indiana high school football, with eligibility open to all high school head coaches across the state regardless of school size, league, or division.
Amstutz was one of 10 coaches recognized as honorable mentions for Week 9, including Craig Buzea (Crown Point), Paul Sade (Churubusco), Pat Shanley (Lafayette Jefferson), Ethan Robbins (Maconaquah), Max Goodin (Indian Creek), Anthony Henderson (Purdue Poly), William Coonce (Eastern Hancock), Trent Fine (North Davies), and Jason Hawkins (Clarksville).
Why It Matters
- The weekly honor spotlights high school coaching performance across Indiana, not just state power conferences.
- Northridge’s conference title since 2017 adds weight to the decision, linking the award to a championship-level moment.
- The Warsaw win also underscores that the Raiders’ turnaround included a marquee victory over a highly regarded Class 5A opponent.
- The recognition program, now in its 27th year, offers a consistent platform for communities to track and celebrate football coaching achievement.
