Green Bay signed EDGE D.J. Johnson, QB Cam Miller and S John Saunders Jr. to the practice squad and moved on from safety Kahlef Hailassie.
The Green Bay Packers made a three-player addition to their practice squad and released a safety from the unit Tuesday, according to an announcement from general manager Brian Gutekunst.
EDGE D.J. Johnson (6-4, 260) was signed to the practice squad. The team noted he was a third-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2023 and that he spent time on the Washington Commanders’ practice squad at the end of last season and the first week of this season. Johnson will wear No. 46 in Green Bay.
The Packers also signed QB Cam Miller (6-1, 215) to the practice squad. Green Bay’s release said Miller entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025 and that his development background includes five seasons at North Dakota State, where he helped the program to two FCS national championships. Miller will wear No. 17.
On the defensive side, Green Bay signed S John Saunders Jr. (6-2, 211) to the practice squad. The team said Saunders was an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2025 before spending time with the New England Patriots and, this season, other NFL practice squads. Saunders will wear No. 35.
To make room for the new practice-squad group, the Packers released S Kahlef Hailassie from the practice squad.
