Chris Renzelmann, Nick Neds, Tommie Williams, Tim Shaw and Terry Steinmetz were selected in the Packers-WIAA, NFHS-NFL officiating recognition program.
The Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) announced five officials as the October “Crew of the Month” for their work in Wisconsin high school football. The honorees are Chris Renzelmann, Nick Neds, Tommie Williams, Tim Shaw and Terry Steinmetz.
The recognition is part of a joint initiative that ties the NFL and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) to state-level partners. Each month, participating organizations review nominations for five officiating positions and select individuals based on their demonstration of objectivity, fairness in applying the rules, and commitment to officiating.
According to the Packers and WIAA, the “Crew of the Month” selections are made for the following roles: referee, umpire, head linesperson, line judge and back judge. At the end of the season, five prior “Crew of the Month” honorees are chosen as members of a Wisconsin “Crew of the Year.” Those Wisconsin honorees then move on to the NFHS and NFL to determine a national “Crew of the Year.”
The monthly honorees are highlighted on Packers, WIAA and NFL Play Football digital and social media platforms, as part of the broader effort to recognize high school officials for performance and professionalism.
