Green Bay’s summer schedule begins in late July, with the team’s public sessions concentrated in the opening stretch of camp.
The Green Bay Packers have released their 2026 training camp schedule, including 12 public practices for fans to attend at the start of camp. The first practice is slated for Wednesday, July 29, setting the tone for a summer that begins earlier than many supporters expect and asks fans to plan ahead.
According to the schedule announcement carried by Yahoo Sports, the public practice window is front-loaded in the first two weeks. That matters for the Packers because early camp sessions are typically when coaches establish day-to-day structure, evaluate early work in full-team drills, and separate those who are ready to absorb the system from those who need more time.
Public practices generally provide a clearer first look at how a team is shaping its offseason work, even if the most detailed on-field work is often reserved for internal periods. With 12 open sessions distributed early, Green Bay is effectively giving supporters multiple chances to observe practice flow, position group tempo, and how the roster is taking shape during the initial ramp-up.
The Packers’ camp timing also has practical significance beyond the stadium gates. A late-July opener compresses the calendar for families, school schedules, and local events in and around Green Bay, while a clustered public schedule in the first two weeks can reduce the need for long-term guessing about when the most accessible practices will fall.
Training camp is also where the NFL’s offseason storylines begin to turn into measurable work. Even without discussing specifics about matchups or roster moves, the structure of public practices can influence how quickly fans see changes to daily roles, learning pace, and the rotation of players through team drills as the staff builds toward the preseason.
As the 2026 calendar moves forward, the primary thing to watch is which of those public practices coincide with key phases of camp preparation, such as expanded team periods and the moments when coaches start narrowing focus. For supporters planning attendance, the safest approach is to lock in summer logistics early, since a front-loaded public schedule means missing early dates could eliminate several of the team’s open opportunities.
For now, the Packers’ release establishes the overall framework: a July 29 start and a total of 12 public practices, concentrated heavily in the first half of camp’s public window. Additional details, such as the full breakdown of each public day, would be needed to refine attendance planning for individual dates.
