Palantir expands Google Cloud ties by plugging Gemini into its AIP and linking BigQuery, Foundry and Ontology

A new Google Cloud Marketplace listing and deeper integrations aim to help enterprises run Gemini-powered workflows inside Palantir Foundry and its AI Platform, with a focus on bidirectional data and meaning exchange.

Palantir Technologies said it is deepening its partnership with Google Cloud, positioning its software for customers who want to use Gemini generative AI alongside enterprise data managed through Palantir Foundry. The companies also said Palantir is now available through the Google Cloud Marketplace, a move that can make it easier for organizations already standardizing on Google’s cloud stack to adopt Palantir’s “enterprise operating system” layer for analytics and operations.

The integration work Palantir highlighted focuses on bidirectional connectivity between Google’s BigQuery, the company’s data storage and query service, and Palantir Foundry, which is designed to centralize and connect operational data. Palantir and Google Cloud said they are delivering two-way data federation between BigQuery and Foundry, building on existing “zero-copy” virtual table integration.

In addition, the companies said they are enabling two-way semantic exchange between Google’s Knowledge Catalog and Foundry’s Ontology. In practice, semantic exchange is intended to move more than raw datasets, carrying metadata about what data means so AI and decision workflows can interpret it consistently. Palantir’s Ontology is described in company materials as the system that encodes the enterprise’s data, logic, action, and security.

The headline element for AI workflow builders is Gemini’s connectivity to Palantir’s Artificial Intelligence Platform, or AIP. Palantir described AIP as the platform for connecting generative AI into operational domains, and its documentation describes secure access to multiple LLMs (large language models), including Gemini. In the Google partnership, Palantir said deeper connectivity between Gemini and AIP will allow customers to connect “best-in-class” models directly to their most critical AI workflows and day-to-day operations.

Google Cloud’s Applied AI and platform ecosystem leadership framed the partnership as a way to turn data into execution-ready intelligence rather than standalone experimentation. Satish Thomas, vice president at Google Cloud, said the two companies are uniting BigQuery and Gemini with Foundry and AIP to deliver a “secure, unified foundation” for complex workflows at scale. Palantir Chief Architect Akshay Krishnaswamy said the partnership is intended to combine years of customer investment in Google’s Knowledge Catalog, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage with the operational force of Foundry and AIP to enable customers to “unleash Gemini” through an Ontology-powered approach.

Palantir and Google Cloud also pointed to a named customer, Eaton, as an example of how the technology stack is expected to work in production. They said Eaton is using a combination of Foundry, AIP, the Ontology, and Gemini to transform engineering documentation into “intelligent operational assets.” Eaton’s reported outcomes in the announcement include faster quote generation, enhanced engineering precision, reduced effort, and stronger responsiveness to customers.

Beyond the headline integrations, the announcement fits into Palantir’s broader product framing of an “AI mesh” architecture where Foundry and AIP operate together to connect data, logic, and AI to mission-critical operations. Palantir’s own platform documentation describes AIP as part of a system that can integrate and operationalize generative AI, while Foundry and its Ontology provide the decision context and control layer needed for AI to act through workflows rather than simply answer questions.

What remains unclear from the announcement is the commercial scope. Palantir and Google did not disclose pricing, contract size, expected customer rollout timing, the number of customers involved, or performance metrics beyond the Eaton example. They also did not specify which regions or deployment modalities will be prioritized for the Gemini and semantic exchange capabilities, leaving investors and customers to watch for further detail in future product documentation updates and company disclosures.

Why It Matters

  • Marketplace distribution can reduce procurement friction for enterprises already standardized on Google Cloud, potentially widening the funnel for Palantir’s platform adoption.
  • Bidirectional data federation and semantic exchange are designed to reduce “meaning drift” between systems, which can improve the reliability of AI outputs tied to operational decision workflows.
  • Tighter Gemini integration indicates continued emphasis on using multiple LLM providers through AIP, rather than relying on a single model ecosystem.
  • Investors will likely focus on whether these technical integrations translate into measurable product usage and new customer deployments in upcoming quarters.
