New England signed Elliott Davison to its practice squad after releasing him earlier this week, a move that brings back a safety with recent Patriots-game experience and familiarity with the organization’s special teams and defense packages.
The New England Patriots signed safety Elliott Davison to the practice squad, the team announced on Nov. 4.
Davison, 24 and listed at 6-foot and 200 pounds, had been released by the Patriots on Nov. 2 before returning to the club on the practice-squad agreement.
His Patriots history in 2026 includes a Sept. 3 practice-squad signing, release on Sept. 14, and re-signing to the practice squad on Sept. 15. He was later added to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Oct. 19.
After being elevated from the practice squad for two games, Davison appeared in three Patriots games during the 2026 season, recording 1 defensive tackle and 1 tackle on special teams.
Davison entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the New Orleans Saints on April 4, 2025 out of the University of Texas-San Antonio and spent the 2025 season on the Saints practice squad. He went to Saints training camp in 2026 before being released Aug. 30 and then joining New England’s practice group.
