New England cut safety Elliott Davison from its roster and brought in running back Terrell Jennings to the practice squad, continuing a stream of midseason roster reshaping.
The New England Patriots released safety Elliott Davison and signed running back Terrell Jennings to the practice squad, the team announced on Monday.
Davison, 24, had been on and off New England’s practice squad and active roster during the 2026 season. New England signed him to the practice squad on Sept. 3, released him on Sept. 14, and re-signed him to the practice squad on Sept. 15.
The Patriots elevated Davison from the practice squad for two games, where he played on defense and special teams. He recorded 2 tackles on defense and 1 tackle on special teams in those appearances.
Jennings, 25, originally joined New England as a rookie free agent out of Florida A&M in 2024. In 2025, he spent time on the practice squad before being elevated to the active roster, and he later finished the year on injured reserve.
Overall, Jennings has appeared in 10 NFL games, totaling 36 rushing attempts for 106 yards and 1 rushing touchdown, with 1 reception for 9 yards and 2 kickoff returns for 59 yards, according to New England’s announcement. The Patriots also noted he was placed on injured reserve on Aug. 13, then released from IR on Aug. 15.
