Patriots vs. Jets Week 6: A.J. Brown, Will Campbell, and TreVeyon Henderson are officially active

New England gets key pieces back for Sunday at Gillette Stadium, with Brown returning from injured reserve and Campbell and Henderson activated after ankle or knee issues

The New England Patriots have released their official inactives for their Week 6 matchup against the New York Jets, and four notable players are available, headlined by star wide receiver A.J. Brown returning to the lineup.

Brown is active after being on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 1 against Seattle. The team also listed Brown alongside Christian Gonzalez, giving New England its top two playmakers back in the same game.

The Patriots also confirmed that starting left tackle Will Campbell is active after a knee issue that left him questionable. At running back, TreVeyon Henderson is likewise active despite being listed questionable with an ankle ailment.

On offense, New England’s inactives include CBs Carlton Davis III, Karon Prunty, and Channing Canada, as well as OT Dametrious Crownover. The emergency third quarterback is Behren Morton, with Tanner Arkin inactive.

Defensively, Gonzalez’s return is the biggest personnel swing for the secondary. The Patriots plan to have him cover Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson again after his two-game absence following a shoulder injury.

New England and New York kick off at 1 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, with the Patriots aiming to keep momentum from earlier wins while integrating Brown’s return into the passing game.

Why It Matters

  • Brown’s activation answers whether the Patriots could restore their top receiving weapon after a four-game absence caused by his Week 1 injury.
  • Campbell and Henderson being active tightens depth and continuity up front and in the backfield, reducing the need for replacements in their standard roles.
  • Gonzalez’s return affects the matchup profile against the Jets’ passing game by restoring one of New England’s primary corner options.
  • With New England’s inactives still including multiple defensive backs, the game will also test how the Patriots handle coverage responsibilities without Carlton Davis III.
