Peer To Peer Network submits MobiCard 1.8 to Apple App Store, plans coordinated Android rollout

The company behind the MobiCard digital business card says its update adds a news-feed experience, enterprise advertising tools, paid accounts, audio introductions, and deeper engagement analytics.

Peer To Peer Network, Inc. has submitted its MobiCard 1.8 mobile app to Apple’s App Store and said it will follow with a submission to Google Play after Apple provides feedback. The move is part of the company’s effort to transition its “digital business card” product from a primarily consumer sharing tool into a platform that it believes can generate recurring revenue from paid users and enterprise customers.

In a June 8 announcement, the Massachusetts-based company said MobiCard 1.8 includes an upgraded user interface and streamlined workflows for creating, sharing, and managing digital cards. The company also described the update as targeting both individual professionals and organizations looking for a channel to engage customers or prospects through the card ecosystem.

One of the centerpiece changes is a news-feed style feature, which the company said allows users and “Enterprise Accounts” to publish updates, promotions, announcements, and other content within the app. Peer To Peer Network said it expects this feed to support enterprise advertising, where companies can promote their services, products, events, offers, and digital business cards.

The company also said it is adding paid individual accounts, designed to provide professionals with enhanced digital networking tools and additional profile functionality. In addition, MobiCard 1.8 includes an audio message feature, allowing users to add an audio introduction to their card, up to two minutes in length.

Peer To Peer Network said the updated app expands analytics capabilities, including visibility into who viewed a card and what actions users took. It also described new analytics tied to the audio introductions, including who listened and for how long, characterizing the measure as a way to qualify leads based on engagement depth rather than simple clicks.

The company said it is taking an approach to coordinate releases across iOS and Android. “We are waiting to hear feedback from Apple before we submit to Android, only because Android usually approves apps immediately and we want them both to come out in the app stores at the same time, creating a coordinated rollout for users and enterprise customers,” said Chairman and CEO Joshua Sodaitis.

Peer To Peer Network markets MobiCard as a mobile digital business card that links profiles and other content, while tracking engagement metrics in real time. Its website describes the app as allowing users to share contact information, websites, videos, and social profiles, with visibility into when their card is viewed, shared, or saved.

What remains unclear is timing and commercial details. In the App Store submission announcement, the company did not specify when Apple will complete its review, whether the Android release will be synchronized to a particular date, or how pricing will be structured for paid individual accounts and enterprise advertising. It also did not disclose any information about expected adoption targets, revenue milestones, or whether additional monetization features beyond those described are planned for later versions.

Why It Matters

  • Apple and Google app review timelines can strongly influence product launch strategy, and this update suggests Peer To Peer Network is prioritizing a synchronized cross-platform rollout.
  • Adding a feed, enterprise advertising, and paid account tiers indicates a shift toward monetizing user engagement rather than relying only on downloads.
  • Audio introductions and listening-time analytics could change how the company positions the app as a lead-qualification tool for sales and business development use cases.
  • If the App Store approval process extends or if features are altered during review, it could affect when the company can begin piloting the new revenue features with enterprise customers.
