Prime Video has greenlit a Brazil adaptation of CJ ENM’s dating reality format “EXchange,” with the new series titled “Love Transit,” Deadline reported on Aug. 24. The announcement ties the format, which has already been a hit in Korea, to Amazon MGM Studios’ slate of unscripted originals for international audiences.

Deadline said the production will be adapted specifically for Brazilian viewers under the Prime Video Original branding. The series is based on the “EXchange” concept, which follows participants as dating experiences are structured around a rotating, exchange-style premise.

Brazilian television producer Boninho will direct “Love Transit,” according to the report. Boninho’s role is part of an expanded local production package meant to align the show’s cast-driven format with Brazilian production practices.

On the production side, Deadline identified Amazon MGM Studios and Formata as the companies behind the series. The reporting also indicates the project will be filmed on location across two Brazilian cities, with production scheduled to begin in September.

Filming is planned in São Paulo and Campos do Jordão, Deadline said. Those locations will determine the look and logistical setup for the series, including the show’s primary environments, accommodation, and on-camera activities.

The “EXchange” format is owned by CJ ENM, Deadline reported, and the deal reflects CJ ENM’s continued distribution of successful reality IP into new markets. Prime Video’s Brazilian move similarly reflects how streaming services have been steadily scaling local unscripted productions that use proven international formats.

No cast list or episode count was included in the Deadline report. Additional details on when “Love Transit” will premiere on Prime Video, along with casting announcements and eligibility rules for participants, were not provided as of publication.

Why It Matters

  • The deal adds another international format to Prime Video’s Brazilian unscripted lineup, which can influence how quickly similar dating-reality concepts spread across regional markets.
  • Production beginning in September in São Paulo and Campos do Jordão points to near-term hiring and local service needs, from crews and post-production support to location logistics.
  • Because “Love Transit” is being built as a Prime Video Original, distribution and participation rules for contestants are expected to align with Prime Video’s original programming standards.
  • The CJ ENM licensing agreement underscores the role of format owners in shaping global reality TV supply, with proven IP reducing development risk for streaming platforms.
  • The next public steps appear to be casting, filming logistics, and a premiere date, none of which were included in the initial announcement.
