‘Project Hail Mary’ to Debut on Prime Video on July 3 After 105-Day Theatrical Window

Amazon MGM Studios’ Project Hail Mary will premiere on Prime Video on Friday, July 3, marking the film’s streaming arrival after a 105-day theatrical window, according to Deadline.

The adaptation, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, is based on Andy Weir’s novel. Deadline reported that the movie first opened in homes through MGM+ on June 18, following an earlier 90-day theatrical window for that first streaming release.

Deadline’s report frames the Prime Video date as the completion of the film’s staggered distribution plan, with the earlier MGM+ availability preceding this broader Prime Video rollout by about two weeks.

The release timing adds to the current industry pattern of layered windows, in which films move from theaters to subscription streaming services on a schedule shaped by exhibitor agreements and platform strategy.
