Provost Marshal General honors two JBM-HH emergency services leaders in surprise ceremony

JOINT BASE MYER-HENDERSON HALL, Va. - Two members of the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Police (JBM-HH) Department received surprise recognition for their service during an awards presentation at the installation's fire station, July 23.

Provost Marshal General Brig. Gen. Sarah Albrycht presented JBM-HH Chief of Police William Johnson with the Order of the Marechaussee in Bronze, and Dispatch Supervisor Patty Jackson with the Friend of the Regiment Award.

Both leaders arrived at Fire Station 61 completely unaware they were the guests of honor.

“The Military Police Regimental Association (MPRA) Order of the Marechaussee and Friend of the Regiment awards are among the highest honors bestowed within our Regimental community,” said JBM-HH Provost Marshal Maj. Lindsey Madero. “Reserved exclusively for those who leave an indelible mark on the history and heritage of the branch, these awards recognize extraordinary individuals whose vision, leadership, and tireless efforts directly enhance the morale, welfare, and operational success of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps Regiment.”

Both leaders earned their nominations through extensive volunteerism and a steadfast commitment to mentoring the next generation of the MP Corps.

Jackson was honored with the Friend of the Regiment Award, symbolizing the vital role that unwavering community support and selfless service play in sustaining our military families and operational readiness, according to Madero.

Chief Johnson was recognized with the prestigious Order of the Marechaussee, representing a career defined by sterling leadership, tactical excellence, and dedicated service to the Corps.

“Through their exceptional dedication, selfless sacrifice, and enduring contributions, both individuals embody the highest standards of the MP Corps, ensuring the Regiment remains strong and resilient,” Madero added.

Johnson noted that the individual recognition is the result of years of teamwork and support.

“I am truly honored and humbled to be awarded the Order of the Marechaussee. This recognition represents the collective efforts of the exceptional teams I’ve had the privilege to lead and serve with throughout my career,” he said. “I’m deeply grateful to the mentors who shaped me, the leaders who believed in me, and my family for their unwavering support. Together, we’ve dedicated ourselves to protecting our communities and serving our nation, and this award reflects that shared commitment.”

For Jackson, the award underscored the vital daily partnership between the installation’s civilian workforce and its active-duty military police.

"I am humbled and immensely grateful to receive the Friend of the Regiment Award from Maj. Madero and Brig. Gen. Albrycht," Jackson said. "This honor extends beyond me to the entire DES team. It represents the seamless partnership between civilians and the 289th MP, all working together. In dispatch, our mission is simple: to make sure we all get home to our families.
